LPG CONSUMERS TO GET SUBSIDY IN THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS FROM JANUARY 2015

From January 1, LPG consumers across the country will  get cash subsidy directly into their bank accounts so that they buy the cooking fuel (LPG Gas Cylinder) at market price.
Domestic LPG users will get 1 cylinder subsidy in the bank account the moment they join the Direct Benefit Transfer Scheme for LPG, now renamed as 'PAHAL'. They will have to use this money to buy 14.2-kg refill at the market price.
The scheme will cover over 15.3 crore consumers across the country, touted to be one of the largest social scheme in the world.
It is learnt that over 6.5 crore consumers (about 43 per cent) have already joined the scheme and will receive subsidy in their bank accounts. Those who have linked their aadhar number/bank account number with their LPG consumer number will become Cash Transfer Compliant (CTC).
This scheme is designed to ensure that the benefit meant for the genuine domestic customers reaches them directly and is not diverted. This is a good initiative by the Government since public money will be saved.
Those who have not joined the scheme, please submit the required forms and become Cash Transfer Compliant, so that you receive your subsidy in your bank account.
