BUS STRIKE ENDS, HAPPY NEW YEAR NEWS FOR CHENNAI CITY

The Government has agreed to form a committee to discuss wage revision and hence the Transport trade unions have called off their strike.  This is a great relief to lakhs of bus commuters and good news for the new year 2015. 
The decision was arrived in the meeting between Transport Minister and leaders of 11 transport unions. The government will constitute a tripartite committee for conducting negotiations on wage revision.
The committee is expected to be formed in 2 days, will be headed by the Transport Minister and  consist of representatives from the Revenue and Transport Departments.
“The unions will discuss 28 demands with the committee.  The State government has also agreed to release the transport employees, who took part in the protest for the past four days and were arrested. 
As per reports, the frequency of MTC services in Chennai city has improved considerably.
