The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to accept the changes made by the Tamilnadu Government in a state law on education to stop enforcement of samaseer kalvi curriculum approved by the previous government.
Justices J.M. Panchal, Deepak Verma and B.S. Chauhan refused the plea of the government to stay a Madras High Court order quashing the amendment aimed at scrapping the samaseer kalvi curriculum.
The bench also asked the state government to distribute the over 9 crore text books, by August 2, instead of July 22 fixed by the high court.
The bench will decide the matter on July 26.
